About Me

Who is this crazy math lady that loves books you might ask?  I am a 40 something Lead Teacher at Pangborn Elementary in Washington County, MD who has, as my boys say, an addition to reading.   I’ve been at this teaching game for 22 years and have been a classroom teacher, in both middle and elementary schools, a county content specialist for elementary mathematics, and building level lead teacher.

I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Messiah College in Grantham, PA and a Master’s degree from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in mathematics.

When I am not at work, working on school work, or thinking about school…I’m the mom to two wildly different boys; Evan age 14 (nearly 15) and Ben age 10 (nearly 11).  During the fall you’ll find my cheering for Evan at Boonsboro High School soccer games, the winter at basketball games, and in the spring on the sidelines of the Travel soccer teams.  With Ben we’re encouraging him to develop his passion for creating, building, tinkering, and shooting (both archery and riffle).

Oh yes, and another little known fact about me…I’m the choir director of a little more than a dozen, mostly retired and unruly choir members at Emmanual (Baust) United Church of Christ.  I often tell them that they are as difficult to teach as my students but… we have a great time, laugh a lot and make glorious music together each week!
